@novembermoon Those commonsensical things you say is what most people used to think in the world I grew up, regarding both inmigrants coming to my country, and those who had to emigrate.

But at some point this logic was blown away. We started being bombarded with messages about how cultural enriching immigration is. Also with messages telling us that immigrants come as a consequence of wars 'we' cause ( I am still waiting for someone to tell me which wars I have caused), or by being colonisators centuries ago (again, which countries did I colonised?).

@Cierzo people can choose their attitude towards the past. We don't pretend colonization did not happen. Here in SE Asia, much of the lands were taken by the British, the French, the Dutch, the Portuguese and Spanish and the Americans. But after they left, we built our country. To continue to whine about being exploited is to take the easy way out. It is so easy to act the victim. It is much much harder to plod on quietly, work hard and overtake your colonial masters in the first world. Respect must be earned.

@novembermoon Macron is just the last step in a conatant going downhill. At some point there will be a reaction.The question is how violent it will be, and if it will be on time, or it will come too late.

@Cierzo reactions happen in response to stimuli and therefore can never be too late. They happen when they're supposed to.
