Have you ever felt this?

Have you ever felt shame to belong to a group/race of people despite doing the right thing?

I feel this right now, the feeling of shame even when I've never done something like this before. It's not new and I'm aware of how Indians scam people all over the world through their call centres. I'm sorry to say but I hope these dip***** can go f*** themselves for scamming people of their hard earned money.

It saddens me to accept the fact that I'm an Indian and I've always preferred to not share my nationality to avoid being judged. It does make us all seem bad even when there's a couple of us who aren't out there to scam people.

Yes. When my mom first came to the U.S., she got scammed at a job. A customer ripped her off and she had to pay the loss back from her check. She said she cried and that she’d never trust Americans again. That hurt to hear. I did feel ashamed for a bit even though I didn’t do that to anyone.
But no one should feel guilt for what they didn’t do just like no one can feel pride for what they didn’t accomplish.

@SW-User I don't rip people off but have been a victim at times.

The thing is I don't care but it does prick me to be judged by people for belonging to the race. I have met a majority of people who just say "NO" because of my race. I don't say anything anymore. Agreed there's good and bad in every race but it's like a prejudgement painted on every face with the same brush.
