[big]#1 "Tap-tap-tap"[/big]
A young couple were driving along an isolated country road one night when their car broke down. The man said he would go out and look for help, but the woman became frightened at the idea of being left by herself. The man suggested she lay down on the floor in the back while covering herself with a blanket so no one could see her and told her not to look or get out of the car no matter what she heard until he came back. The woman waited for hours and her boyfriend never returned, but she then started hearing a strange "tap-tap-tap" noise on the roof of the car. It unsettled her greatly, but heeding her boyfriend's word, she remained hidden. The irregular "tap-tap-tap" noise persisted all night long, but at daybreak, she overhead the sound of police sirens outside. The woman finally revealed herself and the cops instructed her to exit car and walk toward them but whatever she did, not to look back at the car. She walked back to the police without looking back as instructed, but did so at the very last minute to see her boyfriend's lifeless body hanging from a tree over their car! The tapping noise was coming from his blood dripping onto the roof of the car.

[big]#2 The Man-Eater[/big]
For three years, a countryside province was terrorized by a large wolf-like animal. The creature was described as being considerably larger than a wolf, with russet and black fur, a wide chest, large mouth, long tail and razor-sharp teeth and claws. After more than a hundred people were mauled, hunting parties were organized to hunt and kill the beast. The earliest attempts do so were unsuccessful as the creature was incredibly fast and its hide proved highly resistant to gunfire. It eventually caught the attention of the government who offered a hefty reward for anyone who could slay the monster. After hundreds of more people were killed and three years of hunting the animal, one party finally managed to kill it after shooting it with large-caliber bullets. The creature was stuffed and put on display. It was considered a truly frightful animal by all who saw it. In the end, 610 attacks were reported, around 500 in which the victims were killed and 49 that were injured. Whatever it was, it was one of the most terrible man-eaters to ever walk the Earth.

[big]#3 A Deadly Exorcism[/big]
One day, a man belonging to an English family began acting strangely following complaints that some entity was inside of him. He reportedly became highly aggressive, even biting his father and threatening to mutilate himself before his family members restrained him by tying him to a bed. The family attempted to perform an exorcism on the man, keeping him restrained and praying for him over the next three days. On the third day, the man appeared to be experiencing breathing issues and so the family called emergency services, but they were unable to treat him and the man died. The family were held responsible for the man's death and faced several charges. A post-mortem examination of the deceased man's body revealed he had over 60 wounds on his body, including what looked to be a bite wound. It was reported that the other family members had suffered injuries as well. During the trial, the man's father argued to the jury that he and his family were merely attempting to save his son and denied any association with the occult that lead to his son's death. In the end, the jury agreed as they found the family not guilty on all charges.

[big]#4 Killer Security Service[/big]
There was once a serial killer who had a career working for an electronic security company. As part of his job, he would install security alarms for homeowners. Little did those residents know, the killer would use his knowledge of home security systems to break into their homes without setting off the alarm and murder them... just when they thought they would be now be safe - and by the same man who provided them with the security, no less! For more than a decade, the killer worked for the security company installing alarms in peoples' homes and then killing those he did it for. He often installed security systems for people who were concerned about the notorious serial killer who could somehow avoid not setting off security alarms, completely oblivious to the fact that that very man was the one assuring them that they would be well taken care of with him installing their new security system.

[big]#5 The Vanishing Hitchhiker[/big]
A man was driving down the highway late one night when he spotted a teenage girl on the road waving her arms at him pleading for him to stop. When the man pulled over and the young lady said she was in a car wreck about a mile up the road with her boyfriend who was trapped in the wreckage. The man gave her a ride and began taking her up the road. Along the way, the girl explained that her and her boyfriend were on their way back home when an animal came onto the road, causing them to swerve and wreck. They eventually arrived at where the girl said the wreck was. The man, however couldn't see anything. The girl pointed to a ravine a long way down the side of the road. The girl thanked the man one last time for finding it. The man was about to say something to her, but when he turned to face the girl, she was gone! The man thought she had somehow slipped by and made her way down before him, so he hurried down the ravine as well. He eventually found the wrecked car and inside were the bodies of the girl's boyfriend and of the girl he had just given a ride to! The late young woman's spirit appeared to have reached out to that man to lead him to where her and her boyfriend had passed, as their wrecked car was so well-hidden down that ravine, it would have been some time before they were found.

Let me know in the comments which stories you think are real and which you think are fiction. And please don't be a spoilsport if you happen to know any of them already! After an hour, I will post my own comment where I'll tell you the answers. Good luck!

Also, feel free to let me know of any typos or word skips you find and I'll correct them.
As I am reading all the stories, an awful sense of familiarity washed over me. Are they plots to horror movies because I am sure I have watched them all at one point 馃槓

@Ducky Oh alright, I'll post them right now. 馃槢

"Tap-tap-tap" - FICTION
Yet another urban legend that's spawned several variations. I got lazy and just used the most popular one, lol.

The Man-Eater - FACT
From 1764 to 1767, the former province of G茅vaudan, France was terrorized by a large unknown animal that massacred hundreds of people. It even caught the attention of King Louis XV who offered a hefty reward for anyone who could kill the beast. It was seemingly unstoppable for years but was eventually brought down, its body stuffed and brought before the king. Some believe it to be merely a series of attacks by one or several wolves. But a lot of evidence suggests that this animal, whatever it was, had to have been larger than any known wolf.

A Deadly Exorcism - FACT
In August 2016 in North London, 26-year-old Kennedy Ife began exhibiting strange behavior. His family believed he was possessed by demons and attempted an exorcism that lasted three days but ended with Kennedy's demise. The family were charged with counts of manslaughter and false imprisonment, but their case was enough for the jury to clear them of any wrongdoing.

Killer Security Service - FACT
Dennis Rader was one of the most elusive serial killers who ever lived. He had a job working for ADT Security Services from 1974 to 1988. He would install security alarms in peoples' homes and then break into those same homes while disarming the alarm to commit his atrocious killings. It wasn't until 2005 when an investigation using modern DNA testing led to Rader finally being arrested.

The Vanishing Hitchhiker - FICTION
Ripped this from a TV show, though I think it's based on another urban legend as well.
This is insane! I came across the beast of Gevaudan in Teen Wolf and The Originals many moons ago. Thought it was all fictitious. Didn鈥檛 know it was an actual story. 馃ぃ
I suspected the exorcism which sounds an awful lot like the exorcism of Emily Rose, and the serial killer security guy to be true. @Ducky

@DrScissorhands Hope you found it interesting. Check out the other four I鈥檝e done, if you鈥檙e interested. Though none of them are that interesting, if I鈥檓 being honest. The show did it 100x better. 馃槄

I鈥檓 sure I鈥檝e heard these before, the first one and last one true?
Ducky31-35, F
@Fairydust My reply to DrScissorhands, if you didn't see it and still care to know. 馃檭
