I Need a Diet Buddy

I am feeling very discouraged. I won't quit because in my present situation, quitting is just not an option for me.

I stuck very carefully to my Nutrisystem diet, which must be a permanent diet for me.

The first week I lost weight. Now it's the 2nd week and...the scale shows I gained 6/10 of a lb.!

I've really been good about this, ignoring all temptations except for drinking 1/2 glass of milk a couple of nights ago at 3AM when I couldn't sleep. Sure that milk wasn't why I gained more than half a lb.

And I was not lazy this last week by any means; yesterday, I weeded my whole garden. I have been active though I haven't started swimming yet because the pool here is not heated and I have arthritis. That will start this week when the temperature warms up.

I need some encouragement. People have yelled at me, lectured me and scorned me over my weight for years. I am surely doing my best strictly adhering to a low calorie low glycemic index diet. Nutrisystem worked well for me years ago and I kept the weight off for years. Then last year I got very sick and was bedridden for a year and a half. Now I have gained back about half the weight I lost years ago...very discouraging. I can barely walk and I am highly motivated to lose the weight and gain more stamina.

Anyone out there struggling?

yes. i struggle. daily. and i know that the reasons you want to lose weight are almost more important than the plan you use.

but i'd love to be an accountability buddy! :)
i could really use one.

@greenmountaingal: wow! i did not know that. Thank you.

have you tried Apple Cider Vinegar?
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@Labyrinth: Yes. Didn't think it helped much. But I am about to make a tonic from a recipe and its basic ingredient is apple cider vinegar. The tonic is for clearing up viral infections. It includes garlic, horseradish, ginger and several herbs.

My weight fluctuates throughout my menstrual cycle (lose weight just before period which is weird but I think my metabolism speeds up after ovulating when my temp is higher) and I can put up to 6 lbs on if I get a cold or something. perhaps you're retaining water? I have to have my head in the right place to diet but it's not that vital for me as I'm only 121lbs anyway (would like to be 119 or even 112 really!)

@lostinspice: I weigh 241 lbs. This is a serious situation. And I had my last menstrual period 21 years ago. But I know weight fluctuates for any number of reasons.
