I Think Women Should Be Able to Express Their Sexuality

Repressed...
I wish sexuality was rampant, but I fear there are too many repressed people in this world. At least in my neck of the woods. My boss and coworker consider spaghetti straps risque.

I would definately NOT wear anything like that to work!!!! I am professional enough and have enough intelligence ,to represent my employer properly. I do, however, hear the comments made about customers (several hundreds a day), from my manager's and coworkers lips. In their views, you're either a "good girl" or "a slut"..no room for inbetween. I'm surprised that you would make the leap from my critisizing their standards to assuming that I would ever compromise my employer like that!! I never said that the disdain was pointed in my direction. I am 50 years old and have lived the large majority of my life in rural Georgia..I don't know the kind of people you're used to , but judgement abounds where I'm from...and people are not hesitant to act one way in front of you , only to turn around and critisize everything about you after you leave. Bigotry, homophobia, and , yes, standards of dress are regularly rampant in private conversation. While a lot of people act like they're accepting, they're only putting on a front....now , I'm not saying that everywhere in the south is like that, but at least in my experience (as a good southern girl, now gone bad for running off to an online lover), you can't always believe what you see and hear. (while I do prefer a dress code that's not ever going to be called conservative, I only dress that way on my own time, and don't go into the store in which I work dressed like that)..Penny Webb

that's the chuckle of it all sxdup - we tell you straight to your face what you've said or done that offends us and you ignore and deny it. I told you that if you replaced the word “Redneck” with another group or race in the following statement you would be chastised as a racist.
Redneck country is no place for tolerance of almost any kind. A decent girl is thought of as "loose" or "easy" if she decides to dress like me!!
Instead of realizing that you are guilty of projecting onto an entire group … you pull out the standard anecdote of your ex-husband and his culture and proceed to defend your hate speech pattern. I’ve watched you do the same in the past with other groups of people. You have the right to freely hate all the groups of people that you want ~ just understand that those who project hatred and disdain for entire groups of people will generate plenty of animosity. Assuming you are the intelligent woman you believe you are - you should understand what “these people” have against you and not be surprised when someone takes the time to try to point out your little slips.

Analyzer..you're right...I had the temerity to get in on a conversation with this user ( I only mean EP member, lest it should be assumed that I used another derogatory term) the other night. He did not care for me then..I didn't run and hide from him, and was called several names then....you can see that he misspelled my s/n several times, I can only assume (from the tone of his comments on both stories) that it is intentional. Why?? IDK..maybe he just doesn't like me..or maybe he just felt the need to be hateful. It seems to me that after our exchange on the other story , he would've actively avoided anything written by me. He requested that I block him so that he couldn't stumble across any of my stories...like it's up to me to police his activities. My avatar and s/n are right there for everyone to see...how could he not realize he was commenting on the story of the girl he so chastized on the last story..and several times at that!!

Thanks for being a true and loyal friend, Analyzer!! I can always count on you, chickie!!

All my love,
Penny Webb :-)

???????????? I don't block anyone.....you can always take responsibility for your own actions...novel idea, huh? Resorting to name calling? Real mature response!!
You're the one who commented on my "story"( it was really only a comment on what I perceived from firsthand experience....). And now I'm to blame for your lack of "realization"? If you don't want to be exposed to me, there's a really simple solution. Don't read my stories!! I don't really see how it's any of your business what I write..if you think I'm that thick, why would you want to engage me in a conversation? Is everyone who questions your views thick? Is there no way for you to converse without resorting to personal attacks? I say everything I say earnestly, and try my best not to get personal..I guess the thought of reciprocating common curtesy is anathema to you? I don't know where you get that I'm judgemental...seems the only one sitting in judgement is you. I do not depend on your good graces to feel like a worthwhile person, and do not need or want your approval.

In all fairness – your true and loyal friend’s comments and conduct can be viewed by following the link below. Please pay attention to the tone and manner she uses to enter the conversation. Even if you agree with her politics, I have confidence that your analytical mind will see the truth about your dear friend’s claims of being attacked and called names.

I freely admit that I made and errant assumption about Sxdup’s professionalism. The sadness of that extension is that that error has allowed you to focus on my stupidity rather than Sxdup’s pattern of hate speech. Ugly things happen when hate speech is left unchecked.

We live in redneck country and really haven't had the same problems that you do. Maybe the rednecks' reactions are based on vibes and auras...

Was my response to what was a judmental hate speech on Penny's part. There is no baseless asssumption that if she replaces the word redneck with a derogatory term toward a less white group of people, plenty of people would recognize the hate speech. Here you proudly defend and attack your speech - and say that I launch a random pissing attack on a lovely lady like Sxydup. Hate speech is Hate speech there's nothing pissy about calling out a 50 year old woman when she displays her hatred in public.

In my experience, lbb16, it kinda depends on the attitudes of people where you live. Some communities are much more tolerant than others. In the small town where I lived, it's really looked down upon by most people for a woman to wear short shorts (which I do), low cut tops (which I wear), or a top with no sleeves (spaghetti straps). Redneck country is no place for tolerance of almost any kind. A decent girl is thought of as "loose" or "easy" if she decides to dress like me!!

Love,
Penny Webb ;-)

people can be so rude and stupid I see nothing wrong with women wearing whatever they want as long as certain body parts are covered same as it is for guys I dont think its right that guys can wear very little clothing that still you can see the form but women get called aweful words if they wear short shorts.

Egad. I do believe you pointed out the problem was with your boss and co-worker, right, not the spaghetti straps? I can't go anywhere these days without bra straps sticking out everywhere. With summer, I expect I'll being seeing less of those and more bikini straps!

Did I say I was repressed? I'm not responsible for your taking a leap that I pointed nowhere towards!! I entitled my story "Repressed" and I believe that in the story I said " I fear there are too many repressed people in this world. " I guess you just assume what you please...Penny Webb

Sooooo....your problem with me is what???? That I attributed intolerance only to rednecks???? I was married to one for 20 years and had a ringside seat to their intolerance..yes..I give you that intolerance is rampant in other communities, but I can only speak to my experience.

Thanks, Analyzer....I don't really know what these people have against me.....but I do know that my ex-hubby and most of the people to whom I refer, proudly refer to themselves with that term. It is not a derogatory term, but a proudly held appellation of the people of whom I spoke.
