I Love My Dad

My dad is the nicest, most hardworking person ever. He's owned his own construction business for as long as I can remember. When I was in grade school I remember being so proud of him and even handing out his business cards to my classmates because he was my hero. Everything he builds is the very best it could possibly be down to the last detail. I thought that surely the guy who builds places for other people to live was the most important man in the world. It was a sad day when I realized that construction workers weren't very high on the totem pole in terms of respect. Right now I'm helping him put siding on a house. Well, not right now because I'm writing this. Anyway, my point is, life isn't fair. My dad works so hard every day just to put food on the table and pay child support and bills. He never gets to do anything fun. Why is it always the best people who have the worst luck?

Don't worry about the society treating him fairly or unfairly. The concept of society is very vague and its never easy to live up to its expectations, whether they are rich or poor, the society will always look for flaws in a person.
I personally would respect a hard-working man who cares for his family more than a rich man who has inherited money and has no value for it. Kudos to your dad...if you show him respect, then he will have all he wants!!! Be a good student and make him proud, that's the best you can do for your dad! 馃
