I Love My Dad

My dad is the nicest, most hardworking person ever. He's owned his own construction business for as long as I can remember. When I was in grade school I remember being so proud of him and even handing out his business cards to my classmates because he was my hero. Everything he builds is the very best it could possibly be down to the last detail. I thought that surely the guy who builds places for other people to live was the most important man in the world. It was a sad day when I realized that construction workers weren't very high on the totem pole in terms of respect. Right now I'm helping him put siding on a house. Well, not right now because I'm writing this. Anyway, my point is, life isn't fair. My dad works so hard every day just to put food on the table and pay child support and bills. He never gets to do anything fun. Why is it always the best people who have the worst luck?

My dad is similar. He works his butt off trying to meet the basic necessities and pay child support and he let people take advantage of his kindness but he told me that he's only going to help himself from now on.He hates being broke all the time and wishes he could take a day off and go on vacation. He can be a pain in the ass sometimes but I love him.

@BloodyMary: I wanted to fuss at my dad about that (lol) but I'm glad that he won't make that mistake again.
