I'm Not Married

At my age I feel like it's compulsory! I'm also now crushing on married men because I'm not getting any younger and every man I know is in a relationship or married. I feel so out of place but I also feel content. It honestly feels bitter sweet in a way. It just sucks that people have to follow social norms and find it weird that I'm single and not interested in looking. Am I afraid? Most probably... I'll just keep telling myself I'll get there! :)

Yeah, society does treat you different if you're not like everyone else. I was married once for a short period of time and people treated me differently. As if I wasn't a grown up, mature person before that? If anything being single and independent was more difficult but that's when I am the happiest, so far at least. You'd think by now that attitude would change but it hasn't much. People say the dumbest things to single people. Sometimes they do to make themselves feel better because they're miserable. I got married to fit in and I figured he was the only man that would marry me. It was a disaster. Don't do what I did! Unfortunately it seems it's better to be divorced than never married by my age. People will actually ask you why haven't ever been married, with that look on their face that says "wonder what's wrong with you" 😅. Just laugh, you will be patient and meet the right man, one you don't want to live without, not just a fixture or prop in your life. When their marriages are hitting the skids, you will have a true love that lasts because you were patient. I hope you find him sooner than later! Good luck in the meantime fitting in with the sheeple of the world 😄😀

@juiceyangel333: thank you. I was worried it would sound bitter or angry. Honestly, sometimes I do feel that way but it doesn't invalidate how I feel or my opinions. I have a handle on it. I've learned not to be ashamed of being different and embrace who I am regardless of what others may or may not think. There's no right or wrong way to live life, just different ways.
