I Am Friendless

It hard to be friends on here. I mean I know I got a rep for my past and that people will say "But I like you" Hardly get a PM or anything in a year or so. Instead I sometimes get "You used to be that chair guy" or get some spiteful person that just wants to pull me down. It's just I don't know how to actually strike a conservation and keep it going on. ¬_¬ I've noticed there are small groups of friends on here that band together and I have been on SW since the beginning. So it gotta be me that's the problem. Maybe I should log off and find another place like answermug maybe

It seems this place has changed a lot of the course of a year. I can't say it has changed for the better. I rarely find anything to comment on anymore. Even when I post a question, there always has to be that one troll that's an ass and comments something absurd so I end up deleting the whole post. Having said that, I'm sure a lot of people can relate to this but we still keep coming back..lol

@SW-User I do most of the time but more and more seem to be popping up.. lol
I think this place isn't much for being friends with people lately. I have very few but really don't feel like I belong on here either.

@Snake I used to come on here a lot. But they changed the site so much. It ended up being more stressful than fun for me. It's like so many (not all) have ulterior motives.

Hmmm..
well I come here alone.
I'm not in a tribe or group.
I don't band together with anyone -
I am not looking for just ONE best friend
I am happy with the interactions I have, there are some fun people.
It is what it is.
It is what you make of it.
I think perhaps you're here looking for the wrong thing.
Just enjoy your time and interactions and reading some wacky or funny things that people have to say.
I didn't know you used to be the chair guy as I honestly don't pay THAT much attention.

Answermug - Jeez don't do that to yourself that place is rotten filled with sexist narcissists

Have you ever be the one pm people? Try to make a conversation?
cloudi · 36-40, F
It's still changeable. This convo might change my mind. About you at least 😊

It's hit and miss. I try to make an effort to comment on posts that are "worth" it (not that I am on here often).

However, on the flip side, I try to ask questions or make light joking appropriate posts and sometimes I get very few responses. It is what it is, I really don't care tbh. It's nice to find people to converse with, but the majority are idiots.

I think you are setting yourself up for pain and disappointment looking for real friendship online. It rarely happens
@Fernie I must be more the exception than the rule then. When I talk to people online, whether here or elsewhere, I tend to form friendships or want to be a friend as genuinely as I would if we were in real life.

@thinkbigaboutlife I guess I see it differently...virtual friendships...they are more casual acquaintances than friendships imo. The word friend is so washed out and perverted these days...In my mind and life experience...real friendships require a good and bad history together...eye contact...body language. We don't get any information online that we need to become true friends. If a virtual friendship is sufficient for you I hope you have tons of those friends.
@Fernie no no, i don't have tons of virtual friendships. Many end up being blocked or simply disappear. But the few priviledged ones that got to stay in my 'friendship circle' is because they have proven to be loyal friends. I'm introvert, so making friends online is easier for me than in person, but I do have some in person friends too. Open your heart and mind to friendship online. You might be surprised. Heck, you and I could become friends too. lol

I could have written this myself. Minus the chair stuff.
