Me: I'm going to a BYOB holiday party, and I don't want to drink an entire bottle of wine myself. Do you have like.... single servings or mini bottles? Liquor Store Guy: We have cans. Me: ...? Me: Seems a little trashy, but okay, I'm sold.
Has anyone else seen this?! How long has this been a thing?!
It's been around a while has become 'a thing' after craft beer started to go over to cans instead of bottles. Basically the snobby prejudice about how cans make the liquor taste funny have been disproven so we go over to wine next.
It's been growing over the last few years. With the new canning processes cans are becoming a go to for beer as well. The can better protects from light damage than bottles do and the way they are lined now makes it so the can no longer imparts its flavor which was the main complaint previously.
