Cans of Wine?

Me: I'm going to a BYOB holiday party, and I don't want to drink an entire bottle of wine myself. Do you have like.... single servings or mini bottles?
Liquor Store Guy: We have cans.
Me: ...?
Me: Seems a little trashy, but okay, I'm sold.

Has anyone else seen this?! How long has this been a thing?!

It's been around a while has become 'a thing' after craft beer started to go over to cans instead of bottles. Basically the snobby prejudice about how cans make the liquor taste funny have been disproven so we go over to wine next.

@waleskinder I looked, didn't see any. But good to know they exist!

Wine is fine but liquor is quicker

I can’t get used to drinking wine from a can...

It's been growing over the last few years. With the new canning processes cans are becoming a go to for beer as well. The can better protects from light damage than bottles do and the way they are lined now makes it so the can no longer imparts its flavor which was the main complaint previously.

First I have heard of it.

Makes some sense a number of the car shows I go to won't let you take glass bottles into the evening entertainment, some health and safety thing
Bearserks · 31-35, M
CAN you believe it?! Why not just make a friend and share the bottle with them?
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@Bearserks Eh... I just don't want to risk people not wanting any or bringing their own, and then I get stuck with most of a bottle.
Bearserks · 31-35, M
@FaeLuna you poor dear 😒
Haven't had it in a can yet .. had some of the small cartons (1-2 glasses) over the summer that were pretty good

I buy wine in a can all the time. Some of them are tasty.

I need a glass to pour it in though.
Tracos · 51-55, M
Never seen it.... I did see single serving cartons..

Good plonk?
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
Put it in a glass, nobody will know.........[image deleted]
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@Harriet03 Oh, I fully intend to. It's just that 10 seconds it takes to open it and pour it that attracts all the judgement.

A while. Same as legged wine.

They sell "splits," half a bottle.

It seems wrong, but apparently it's better, due to blocking out the light. It's why craft beers are going back to cans too.
