I Want To Improve My Fitness
For the past two months, I've been trying to make fitness a priority. Life's too short not to be healthy, right?
Anyway, I've been doing some fairly intense weight training most days out of these past ~8 weeks, but I consider that the easy part. The hard part is eating enough to actually gain weight and resting enough to actually build up muscle and strength.
I never really appreciated just how much food you need to eat to gain weight. As a rule of thumb, to gain a pound, you must add 3500 calories to your energy expenditure. For me, that usually means shooting for 2500-2800 calories every day in order to gain a pound a week, and I try to hit 200+g of protein daily. That's like eating 8 servings of chicken every day after you're basically full :$.
I don't know how long I'd be able to keep up eating like this up if it wasn't working so well. I'm up around 8-10 lbs so far from my starting weight, and it seems like I've only been getting leaner 😆
