I Support Body Positivity

I always wonder why we need a body positive reminder. When did we on mass feel this way? are we conditioned to feel bad about ourselves so we can spend more on beauty products?

But who are we comparing ourselves to? A distorted reality that's what.

I enjoy photography as a hobby, hence my username of Shutterbug. I've have had a shot quite a few models in the last few years and i will tell you, they have all the insecurities and hang ups as everyone else. Trust me i have heard them all.

But a model has the advantage of a hair and make up artist, stylist, have been coached, and then you have the photographer and retoucher!

A good make up artist will bring out the real beauty in someone, without overdoing. Its amazing what they can achieve. I try to get one on board for all shoots where i can.

Photographer knows the right light, angles, depth of field to maximise the look. Then the retouching (photoshop). I can remove or reduce blemishes, wrinkles, veins, lines, soften lips, fix red eyes, remove grey hairs, remove tan lines, fix skin colour, remove skin redness, fix dry skin, brighten eyes, and though i don't do it often make sight adjustments to body shapes. And all still looks fully natural!

So when you look at your mirror selfies, don't compare yourself with a model, they have had a lot of help from a lot of people! :)

Ok we have snapchat filters now. And yes they can make your skin look smoother, your eyes brighter with the added benefit of dog ears, but its fake as.

So don't compare yourself with the distorted reality. Just love yourself and enjoy!

But if you ever do have the chance do a shoot, the full treatment, do it! You wont regret it!
