I Hate Watching the News

I usually never watch them, but today I decided I would for some odd reason, and it just reminded me why I don’t watch them in the first place. 2 minutes in and what is being told?
“Two massacres”
“Shooting at a bar”
“12 dead”
“Killer on the loose”
“Wanted killer”
“Girl shot in the head and died”

Bruh. This is depressing, I can’t watch this shit, that’s all that happens in this god damn city.
I am not even joking, these were the news tonight.

Can I be honest? The most violent thing on the news here tonight was a woman being taken hostage by a guy with a knife in Burger King this morning. Nobody was even hurt, and the offender was talked out of the situation by a policeman. Maybe we're just isolated, but the majority of the times we hear about shootings they're American. Maybe America has an issue?

The thing is globally, violence is going down. But the news needs to grab attention so they do it the best way they know- scaring people and screaming booga booga

collectively they spend billions of dollars to find the best ways to upset people and keep them upset so they keep watching. the last thing they want is for you to be happy and for there to be more solutions and not problems in the world.

I turned on the news for the first time in a long time, there was that scum dog facing trial for the Melbourne massacre in January 20th 2017.
