Being gluten free sucks when you live in a developing country

Nobody gives a shit. There is no gluten -free option on menus. EVERYTHING has gluten. Ppl act like it's sth you do for show-off and they think being gluten free and being vegan/vegetarian is basically the same thing. There is just two company that produce gluten-free stuff and one of them sucks, and for using the other you should be approved on a list that you have celiac. You know how many ppl are on that list where I live? 50! Only 50 ppl on that list in this city, and I live in a metropolis! Yeah, ofc you can find gluten-free products imported from other countries, but they are too expensive to live on them.
Fuck!

Unfortunately it's a fairly uncommon syndrome despite the hype. I tried selling gluten free baked products but the demand was too low to make it profitable.

@Tastyfrzz I don't know where you live, but I strongly think ppl are not really aware that they are gluten intolerant here. My aunt just found out a month ago and she's nearly 60. I told my doctor I think I'm gluten intolerant 5 years ago, he mocked me and said I just have ibs and why I don't study medicine if I like it that much? Turned out I was right the whole time😑

@WonderfulOne at most only six percent of the population has a gluten allergy. By contrast, thirteen percent of adults are diabetic, and even they have limited selections of sugar free items. A similar percentage is allergic to milk but mostly through lactose intolerance. Only 2 percent are actually allergic with a risk of anaphylaxis. Peanut allergies are supposedly at three percent but are deadly. PEANUT IS THE MOST LIKELY FOOD TO CAUSE ANAPHYLAXIS AND DEATH. IT HAS BEEN ESTIMATED THAT THERE IS ONE DEATH FOR EVERY 200 EPISODES OF ANAPHYLAXIS. celiac disease is ultimately fatal in 10 to 30% of people with an untreated gluten allergy.

@Tastyfrzz yeah but I've seen a map that showed ppl in Europe and North America are far less lactose intolerant than other ppl. I meant maybe gluten intolerance is also something related to ethnic.
I'm allergic to 3 of those you named (peanut, gluten, milk -not lactose intolerant tho). So, how rare am I?😂

@Tastyfrzz most gluten-free baked items suck to high heaven. The breads are awful. I can make gluten-free breads at home that are pretty good.

@cherokeepatti gluten free brownies are very good but no more be will buy them if they hear that they are gluten free.

@Tastyfrzz I bought gluten free muffins once from the same supplier I buy other gluten free stuff. It was pretty good and I could tell from the texture that it was made with mixed gluten free flour, but I don't know what they put in there (maybe the added flavor), that was not gluten free. Long story short, I lived the next 12 hours of my life in the bathroom that day.😐

@WonderfulOne you might have other allergies too.
