My dad thinks some people are too soft on these kids and gotta toughen them up a bit?

My dad makes sure I don’t use my autism as an excuse and he is getting fed up with me doing that so he called me out for that. He said that’s no excuse for being lazy and sit in the house all day! You’re going to to be getting a job but not right now because of this stupid ass pandemic so there’s no way you’re getting a damn paycheck!”
One teacher told my dad that he was being too hard on me and said I have a disability and he cut he off and said, “See that’s the problem. “Excuses, excuses, excuses. That’s why some kids aren’t doing things for themselves and you’re not letting them because you’re babying them. Stop being so soft on these kids and buck them up for life. Just because they’re special needs doesn’t mean they get special treatment. They follow the rules and get punished like every other kid. Also tough love. Kids need that.” He told me thing and after that, he pulled me out of that school because the teacher me were not doing their job and letting kids throw fits and do what they want. My parents always made sure to find a school that has staff that disciplines, call kids out when their wrong and make sure they deal with the consequences and let them do stuff on their own. I’ve always had tough teachers. Tough but fair.
I don’t know why people are tough on us special people. My dad and family are tough on me and call me our big time when I did very wrong.
I would call the other kids lucky because they didn’t have “mean” parents like my dad and mom (before she left us).

He is being tough cause he knows the world is unfair for everybody not only for especial people..he knows once he is gone youre gonna have deal with this world on your own and nobody will cuddle you and hold your hand despite any disability you feel you have.
He is right.

@Dancingxghost My dad is always right about these things. Even my adult siblings sometimes. They told me don’t say “Exactly” or “I get it” because I don’t understand and I should not be saying that at all because I don’t know yet. That makes me feel dumb.
My sister said, “Why do you think we’re telling you the hard facts to you? To get you prepared for life. To put it bluntly, nobody cares about your feelings Well not everyone is going to care about your feelings or your problems because everyone has their own problems. You’re almost 18 so you’re old enough to not be sugarcoated. Well we shouldn’t sugarcoat anything to kids and teens anyways. I’m not saying it to be mean. It’s the truth and you need to accept that.”
