there was a pear cactus in front of my Uncles that was huge
some said it was over 100 yrs old
I took one leaf ? off of it when I was a kid and rooted it
It was huge at my Dads when my kids took several Leaves ? off of it
They took and now I have one at least 25 yrs old in my yard
It is not so big I can't transplant it ,so I am moving it to my new home

Succulents are so interesting . All those xeric adaptations ! Do you vacation in arid climates to see the cacti ?
