I Am Lost In Life

I'm not sure where my life is going... Nowhere at the moment I suppose. If you've got any suggestions or opportunities let me know. I don't feel like I want anything in life and it stops me from doing anything every single day.

I'm sorry you are in a rut right now. Are you in college by any chance? It sounds like you may need to talk to someone about how you feel. Depression is the worst, but you can overcome it.

I was supposed to go get a referral to a psychiatrist this morning but I like to make excuses for me not to do things. My parents are trying to get me to go to school. I think going to school would be a solid waste of time if I don't have some goal I want to reach. I've been doing nothing since last February so I suppose the psychiatrist would be a good place to start.

A great way to start sounds like. Maybe he could help you figure out what direction you need to go.

I agree go to a psychiatrist and or psychologist.

It might seem like a waste to go to school when you don't have a goal infront of you, but going and completing a few core courses that are needed for most other fields will give you a head start when you do figure it out.

That's probably true. It's just ridiculously hard to make myself do things when all I do is sit around and think about how I mess things up and don't have anyone around me to actually help me get out of myself. Wow apparently I needed to vent...

Making the call to set up a meeting with someone to talk through things with seems to be the place to start. It's hard to get the ball rolling but everyone has to start somewhere.

Yeah exactly :) I'm going in for a blood test next week so I'll talk to my Physician then about seeing a psychologist and probably a psychiatrist. I've been told that medication alongside therapy can really help.

Absolutely, the right therapy and meds could really help. Make a list of things to discuss with your Dr. ahead of time, often when your there in the moment these things (i.e. things your feeling) escape you.

Sure thing. Thanks for the tip :)
