I Wore A Womans Swimwear Suit

This message is for fat chicks like me who, unlike me, refuse to go swimming for fear of having to appear in public in a swim suit.

I love to swim even though I don't meet the cultural image requirements of my home state, California, where all women are supposed to be young, slim, and beautiful. I'm surprised they haven't actually mandated it by law.

So, to all of the older or fatter or imperfect women out there who fear appearing in a swim suit, here are some thoughts to consider:

1. If you get right in the water, most of your body will be covered by the water and won't even show.

2. Fat floats. You'll swim quite easily while all the skinny people flail around to avoid sinking.

3. If your body does show getting in and out of the pool, or if you don't give a rat's ass like me and sit around the pool, you'll be making a whole lot of slim but nevertheless ridiculously insecure young women feel better; there are few women in North America who think they are thin enough and none at all in California. You may be the person who stands between them and a suicide attempt over gaining 3 lbs. One look at you and they may even be able to skip a therapy session. Good deeds like this can give you a lift.

4. Swimming is so much fun, and so good for mind and body, you might forget your size and weight entirely, yes, even in California.

5. You are for all practical purposes, due to the blessings of the laws of gravity, weightless in a pool. If you've ever wanted to lose weight, why not lose it all by getting into a pool of water? You won't have any weight to worry about while you're in it.

Swimming is wonderful, pools are wonderful, and whatever size you are: Have fun! You ARE entitled to enjoy yourself. 🏊‍♀️

You are so silly, I am a swimmer. I mean I swim for my country. And train all the time. And I’m so skinny. I wish I was fat! But I love to see older, bigger people taking the trouble to swim.
