I Think Age Is Only A Number

I work from home. Sometimes I get cabin fever and have to get out. I run over to Wendy's with a good book and eat a hamburger.

2 weeks ago, I witnessed 3 drug deals right next to me. I mean in the next space. I was so engrossed in what i was doing and didn't pay much attention except I wanted to be aware of my surroundings and not get caught off guard.

I looked to the right and the third drug deal was 2 cars of young guys. Suddenly the one car yelled out....Hey that OLD lady is watching you.

I yelled out, " Who are you calling old lady?" Just self defense. I guess anyone over 30 looks old to them. It shut them right up.

I called the sheriff's office and told them that seemed to be the drug corner. The dispatcher honestly asked me why I did not get their tag numbers...WHAT??? get shot or run over??? stupid question.

GreenMountainGal. You are so right. It always makes me giggle when someone calls me old, as if it's supposed to hurt my feelings. The young never seem to realize that I worked a lot of years to get this old. That if they are very lucky, they too may achieve old age and a happy healthy life.

Many of those who think I'm insulted at being called old, are already unhappy and not really healthy. So they will never know that being old is an accomplishment, not an embarrassment.
