Great For Any Child's Development

I love Super-Heroes, it's fair to say. I've been an avid inhaler of comics since I was little. More seen as a 'Boy' thing I think, but mum and dad were happy to feed my addiction...

I used to trawl the old comic shops to get the older magazines and collections..they might not be as high tech or glossy as the newer books but it's always been the stories that got to me, not the flash stuff...

I've always been pretty strict in being a Marvel Girl, really. D.C just never did it for me.

With the comics, the cartoons when I was growing up and then finally the established movies and TV series my love of superheroes has just grown and grown.

Favs? X-Men, Wolverine, Spider-Man,Fantastic Four amongst others....

It's modern folklore....morality stories.

I love them. They help us dream....and believe.

I agree,but while I agree that Marvel puts out great product,you shouldn't cut yourself off to what D.C has to offer-it can be wonderful in its own right.For that matter,so can titles from independent publishers.Bottom line:you'll be cheating yourself by restricting yourself to one company.Almost ALL of them have something worthwhile.

Do yourself a favor and try finding a copy of "Metal Men", a lighthearted silver age comic.

Great choice! Marvel are definitely superior I feel. DC has some great characters, but they balls up the storylines for them way too much. I've got about 6,000 comics sitting out the back, and about 5,000 of them are Marvel.

Oh lord, I remember when fantastic four and spiderman first came out!
I preferred batman over superman. He had cooler toys.
