I Want to Help Victims Become Survivors

I've talked with many fellow survivors of childhood molestation and I really enjoy helping them if I'm able to. When I get older, I would like to be either a school teacher or a social worker and I like to think of my talks with fellow abuse survivors as a way of practicing with becoming the latter. Some have even told me that talking about their experiences with me is therapeutic. But gaining experience to be counselor isn't the only reason I have these talks. I really want to help and I'm not so overly confident that I would see myself as counselor just yet. If I am able to help, I do my best to be a good listener and offer my own insight so long as it's asked for.
