I Am Trying to Be More Green

Candidates need to feel this way too. Green New Deal.

We the people need to take control of what we are doing.

Nothing to argue about here.

I heard a comment recently in a discussion about plastic pollution that made me stop and think... The guy said .. Do you realise every bit of plastic that's ever been made, unless it's been burnt, still exists!

@ozgirl512 seems like every bit of every moron that ever existed...still exists.

@Platoscave good point!

@ozgirl512 That's true. And it will continue to be true for many hundreds of years.

Well, there's actually a fair amount to argue as it pertains to the "Green New Deal." I'm on board big time with battling climate change and creating a new 'green economy.' We WILL do it eventually. Let's start yesterday.
But as it's written now it's just silly and sophomoric. It's idealism with a whole lot of pork in it. IMO they made a huge mistake when they drafted it. Some of these summations sort of makes it clear to me this was never intended to be passed.

"Guaranteeing a job with a family-sustaining wage, adequate family and medical leave, paid vacations, and retirement security to all people of the United States."

"Providing all people of the United States with – (i) high-quality health care; (ii) affordable, safe, and adequate housing; (iii) economic security; and (iv) access to clean water, clean air, healthy and affordable food, and nature."

"Providing resources, training, and high-quality education, including higher education, to all people of the United States."

@Ynotisay Why do I always feel as if I'm battling rose colored blindfold-mills on this forum?

What is the alternative to pushing and brainstorming sustainable alternatives?

Also on a State level, the Romero Institute is fine tuning the best Green ND policies to put forth in California. Good move, sends the right message.

@Platoscave If YOU want to choose belief, over actual implementation, that's on you. Don't expect everyone to feel the same.
So yeah. Let's get everyone to sign a green new deal. And then we need to GUARANTEE that every American has a job and a living wage. That should be super easy, right?
This was a "Look at Me" move by a freshman Congressman with no political experience. Pie in the sky thinking for those who believe a magic wand exists.
I want implementation. I want action. I want things that are repeatable, profitable and sustainable.
THIS isn't that.
And not to burst your bubble but, just because I'm a Californian and interested in the topic, the Romero Institute doesn't have a seat at the legislative table. Not even close.

@Ynotisay With your positive attitude you could be the bloody PRESIDENT.
Or CEO of this place.
all a joke - no such thing as being green - you can recycle which is good but it ends there -
Platoscave · F
@MarmeeMarch want I should give up and kiss my ass gumbye?

Got a better alternative?
@Platoscave Energy aint free - coal - nuclear - hydroelectric- oil is all better than hippie solar and hippie wind. If I had a better one than the above we would be having this conversation on my yacht.
Platoscave · F
@MarmeeMarch so you have a problem with "hippies?"

or is it time to close this thread?

your choice
