I Love My Son

I just want to say thank you to all of you for being compassionate and non judgmental towards Lucas's situation. If you guys weren't so amazing and kind I wouldn't post about it here because it wouldn't help me cope with this. I don't have anyone really, like I said my parent's and I don't have a relationship and we don't have any other family members really. I was a bit worried about telling how Lucas can no longer control his body functions and needs excessive care but you guys were so open and kind towards that. One guy called me a BS-er but it doesn't matter really. I feel very loved and less alone in this on here because of all of you.

I want to give a big shoutout to Lakesidepoet. She's been so kind and understanding and loving towards Lucas this whole time and she's been a willing listening ear. Again thank you so much you have no idea what your support and compassionate nature has done for me and Lucas. All of you you can't imagine how much your guys encouraging supportive words have touched me, I told Lucas about some of your words, I figured he can hear me so I'll tell him, he understood something cause after I read him a couple of comments he smiled and lifted his arm up which tells me you guys made him feel loved and happy for the first time in a long time. He's been having a really hard time this year and you guys made him feel a sense of happiness even when he can't understand or comprehend much. Please go to bed tonight knowing you guys have all done something amazing for a grieving father and a very sick and disabled teenage boy who has been very depressed lately. You guys are a true blessing thank you so very much

We've been without power due to a major snow storm, so I'm just seeing this post. Hearing that Lucas smiled and raised his arm in happiness just makes my day! I know this is so difficult to go through, as a parent. We have so many dreams for our children and sometimes life gets in the way. Just know that you have people who care about you both and are praying for you. As Malia suggested, find some local support too! That will be invaluable.

@Lakesidepoet. You have no idea what your support and kindness has done for both Lucas and I during this hard time. Thank you so much, your words are always so nice and comforting. We really appreciate it. Also I'm sorry to hear about the snow storm and power outage. I hope you're doing ok

I hope things keep getting better and that medicine works for him. Look into support groups in your area for parents. You will not only get emotional support, but a lot of tips you will need.

Thank you. I've been looking into some support groups for parents with brain damaged children or kids who are in a paralysis or vegitive state. I still haven't accepted what has happened yet. Thank you so much

I'm sure his doctors can point you in the right direction. I know a couple people with special needs children that seem to have an expertise. I wouldn't even know where to begin, so I'm assuming you don't either. Lo ally I send people to http://efrconline.org but i know you are in another state. Maybe it will help anyways
