I Think It Is Wrong That So Many of Our Veterans Are Homeless

Having been in this situation myself , it caused me to examine the epidemic in America. Being a First World power , we should not be experiencing this. Homelessness and such extreme poverty statistics.

Its a multi pronged problem IMO :

Corporate greed. The wage gap and average of short term "contract" jobs has become so large now it's almost stifling.

Job used to mean getting ahead. Now it's an acronym for Just over Broke. Designed that way to keep the rats in the wheel.

Among Veterans and Disabled its due to lack of understanding and quality efficient programs. And obscene bureaucracy. There's a severe lack of effective care.

Drugs. These are not party favors. They ruin lives.

No chance. Once you're homeless. Its almost impossible to break the cycle unless someone offers a hand

Let's get it together America. Were better than this

A lot of people in the military don't really plan after the military. All they want to do is get home. My uncle made a career of it. My cousin is making a career of it last I heard. Another cousin is going to college while in the military. He is planning a head. Just about to get out what I have heard

@smileylovesgaming That's far from the only cause

@Spartan1 really it is closer to the truth then u imagine. They think oh I'll join the military and I'm set for life. But the dream ends early from bad choices or health reasons. Or release. But they have no after plan. No college education so no good job's that pay well enough

@smileylovesgaming One small cause does not the whole puzzle make. When you see active duty in a combat zone. And return to things like employers who can't effectively translate MOS into job qualifying factors in the private sector. Depression. Self guilt. And anxiety. Or extreme beauracracy blocking needed care. You'll get it 👍

@smileylovesgaming Btw. In this economy. I've seen engineering masters stuck delivering pizza to pay the bills.
