I Don't Think People Listen to Me

My dad called me at about 10:30 this morning and told me that he's moving to California in about two weeks. I told him okay. He said he'll come drop the dogs off and I said, "You can't do that. Mom doesn't want the dogs."
He said, "Well, maybe you could have a friend take care of them?"
I said, "No, I'm not forcing my dogs on anyone."
He said, "I thought you wanted them."
I told him, "I do want them, but mom doesn't and it's her house."
He said, "Well I'll call you again when I'm dropping them off." then he said bye and we hung up.

After that he sent me a text with the address and name of the ranch he's moving to and said I can visit anytime I like. Then another text telling me that if I do all the things that made him miserable in his life I'll be happy, and to believe him.

I'm so frustrated that I'm on the brink of tears and I have to see important people in about ten minutes. So if this doesn't end in an anxiety attack in front of people I need to like me, I'll deem this day adequate. Otherwise, I'll add it to my mental vault of repressed memories e,e

I'm curious. If you don't mind, I'd like to know what he meant by saying you should do all the things that made him miserable.

Lifestyle choices, like marriage or what he feels is productive, a certain type of job- things like that.

@IntenseCookie: He must assume you are a very different person than he is. Otherwise he would assume you'd be miserable, too. You sound like you wouldn't ignore what someone says in a conversation so you must be different...and that's a good thing.
