I Believe Most People Hide Behind A Facade

Do you ever feel like you’re not being yourself?
You know it when you feel it.
When you are around a person you don’t feel comfortable to just let go and be yourself around.
It is gut feeling and instinctual, our body language and subconscious can capture someone’s inner reaction towards us.
There are times we hold back, we have walls placed when we are with another.
Yet there are those we laugh and goof off with as if we were little kids because we feel completely accepted to be ourselves, not judged, not criticized, with no desire of being self-conscious, or trying to put up an appearance or make an impression.
All of us go through this.
All of us have so much in common, in our humanity, if we only took our masks and facades off to discuss.

It's very true that most people wear masks. I always felt that around my parents. My father was a very popular, likeable guy in public, but when he was at home he sat around in his bathrobe, frowning. My mother was like a monster in some ways in private, with me and my brother, but in public was usually meek and quiet.

@4meAndyou Thank you for sharing this with me. This is actually extremely common as most of us try to put up an “impression” to be accepted. The question is, “are we truly happy when we are alone with no one to impress?” Thank you for your input 4meandyou 😊

@Psycho I agree, those moments where we want to due away with awkward silence.
