I Want to Be a Teacher

I don't know what I want to teach anymore. I know I want to teach English as a second language, because that means i can live abroad. However, once I get back to the US, I'm not sure. Foreign language is probably my best bet, since I have a knack for them. However, I also enjoy history, and the stories and lessons that come from it are amazing. I guess I'll find out in due time

If you teach English as a 2nd language abroad, when you get back to the States, the other language is foreign here.

Well... what areas are most in need? Where are the most openings for teachers?

@MarkPaul I think all teachers are needed on way or another. What has to be taught is changing constantly so no matter the subject, there is something new
@Prometheus Danke Schön~ I appreciate it
@bcvegas4u I'd have to get my teachers certificate if I become fluent enough. sure I could get the certification in the country, but I'm not sure if being able to teach Thai, Arabic, or Chinese would be helpful in the US

Best of luck to whatever you decide to do.

But I also have to remember the demographic of where I'll end up in the US. While Arabic is in high demand, there is still a stigma behind it. Same with Chinese.

That's very true. And besides the students in my class wouldn't take it if they thought it was easy. It would make it fun to teach.

Chinese and Arabic are two of the most in demand now.

You can always argue for your limitations.
