I'm Just Saying

I’m so over my ‘extra feminist/left’ friends being anti-relationship/anti-marriage as some bipolar response to trappings of circa 1950’s. It’s not that I have any opinions on how they should live, but when they give me that “I’m a strong-independent-woman-who-don’t-need-no-man or really anyone for that matter, and think I’m superior to those pitiful souls who want a meaningful partnership“ look of disgust just for acknowledging that I don’t ‘like’ (heaven forbid) being single I kinda wanna smack that pretentiousness right off their smug, lil face. Like yeah man, your fear of commitment, intimacy, trust issues, emotional disconnect, sleeping around to medicate, and masochistic ‘independence’ of suffering, exhaustion, and floundering is definitely better than all those humanoids who value the concept of a meaningful relationship, and combining efforts. 😑. Humans are hardwired to be social creatures. Cooperative teamwork is a better use of time, energy, and resources. STFU

I agree with you, except by saying, true feminism as a human´s right movement is not against men nor relationships.
The one that you commented and quoted was an is a social minority.

@CharlieZ well, I did make a point to emphasize that these people I’m thinking of are ‘extra’, not representative of people who have more reasonable perspectives. I just happen to live in an extremely leftist area so there’s an abundance of people who have extreme, ‘counterculture just for the sake of it” views

@SW-User On the importance of human social bonds and specially on loving relationships, I fully agree with you.
