I Am Numb

Girlfriend said we needed to take a break until I figured myself out or the like which is fancy talk for breaking up.the sad part is I'm not even mad or upset it's happened so many times that I'm just numb to it.like I just don't feel anything anymore. She said it wasn't forever but yeah. Isn't the first time my depression ruined something we we're together for a year and four months. but I'm not mad or anything just don't feel phased by it. She says the break will help me I don't even know if thats the case. Hmmmmm guess I'll go clean it's all I'm good for these days

Alright, then in all likelihood it really is just a break and not breaking up :) just remember that if there are problems in your relationship to address them and not use "taking a break" as a way to run from them, that goes for both of you. Get help for your depression, okay? My boyfriend's family can't afford it and even when they could, they did nothing. I took a Psychology class as an elective to try and help him on my own. If you have the means, however, I recommend you see a licensed professional. I can't remember which it is in the field of Psychology that is not authorized to prescribe any medication, but see one that is not authorized to do so. Try to get help first, not rely on medicine as a temporary fix (which it is, my boyfriend has to take anxiety medicine and if you forget to take stuff like that...it's not a fun ride. Same if you suddenly find yourself unable to pay for it). Best of luck to you, and take care of yourself!

No, you're not. I had a knife pressed up against my neck and a suicide note written before I decided I needed to fix things. I tore the note up, put the knife down, and helped myself recover. All of this went on right under my family's noses, and I helped myself get better. If I can help myself get better when I think I've hit rock bottom, then you can get better from where you are with help.

You say you have depression. Does she know this, and is she being supportive in helping you? My boyfriend suffers from it as well, and always talks about how he's happiest with me and that I make him feel better. Find someone who will be supportive of you and is willing to work with your depression, help you, and deal with the negatives that come with it.

She knows she said we we're taking a break but she'd be there if I needed her.but I'm just going to go solo
