What do you mean by "could have been"?
Trippy · F
@ABCDEF7 Perhaps allowing fear or uncertainty to keep at bay opportunities for growth.

@ABCDEF7 Great question
ABCDEF7 · M
@Trippy I don't think about what could have been, if..
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@Trippy 'Nothing to fear except fear itself', yes, sometimes the fear and uncertainty can immobilize us, but life is so short, why not just jump in, -take the plunge? Why can't we throw caution to the wind?
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
Are we programmed to play it safe and not take risks?
Trippy · F
@atlantic59 Perhaps the ego....that thinker in our heads whom we depend upon, survives on fear.

@Trippy You hit the nail on the head! The only way I am able to separate from that voice is by doing something repetitive with little thought, and we all can, but it can be so fleeting to the undisciplined like myself. I guess, in the mean-time, just try and do something positive.

My new hobby is watching and photographing all the varieties of birds that appear out my windows and numerous feeders. I get completely lost in their behaviours
Trippy · F
@atlantic59 I often simply count my breaths. Try to escape my need to label and question and detect. Just simply...be. Few and so very far between, as you've said we we share seats upon the novice boat....But being totally in the present moment is a beautiful experience. 🙂

@Trippy I admire you and wish all the best on this wonderful difficult journey called life. Thanks
Trippy · F
@atlantic59 You as well ❤️

@Trippy I hear that marathon runners and other athletes experience this zen type state when the body becomes something else. We all run for something, in a way, and spiritual freedom must be somewhere in that mix. Yes, that moment is worth so much...as you remind me of precious moments. Isn't bliss wonderful. If only for a moment.
Trippy · F
@atlantic59 I've heard that that runners refer to that as " hitting the wall". Escaping the limit of thought. A moment worth a life time. Bliss indeed. 🙂
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@Trippy I'm not going to start running but...I will keep you posted if I 'hit the wall' in other ways. I love the concept of escaping thought. As someone who thinks too much and is often 'thoughtless' when it comes to dealing with others, -this truly appeals to me.
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
I believe this is why I drink. To escape thought. But it doesn't work really. I just think drunken thoughts
Trippy · F
@atlantic59 As if to say..." I think"....blah..blah. We may as well proclaim that we digest out food. " I circulate my blood" Those just happen. So does thinking. Use them and move forward. All else it just uses you.
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@Trippy That is correct. My thoughts are just a bodily function. Move forward indeed. Did I say I admire your thought process. Oh Oh, that requires thinking, right...damn, I feel a dilemma coming on..can I at least admire your wisdom? Yes. Why yes I can.
Trippy · F
@atlantic59 Hahaha...my thoughts admire yours right now. 🙂
