I dont wanna accept that my parents won’t be around forever.

My dads girlfriend a couple weeks ago made me cry HARD when she told me off about how I’m treating my dad and she flat told me bluntly in my face that my parents won’t be around forever and I need to start helping out more and I’m very young. Plus I need to start thinking about getting a job and working on getting my own place soon because daddy will not be along for long and I need to stop being a little bitch to him. I told her I’m autistic and go easy on me but she refuses and said stop using aspergers as an excuse and I am very smart and capable and I am not a child anymore. I just turn 18 last month.
She made me cry and the thought got stuck on my head about what she said. My dad is going to be 65 next year. My mom will be 55.

No one gets out alive.
[@131646,Steve42] Why did she have to say all the brutal shit to me? She hurt my feelings and she scold at me. She said I don’t need my daddy to back me up and I’m old enough to have these kind of conversations since I’m an adult now

[@1132160,SweetiePieLay] I think 3 things are clear. One, she doesn't know what she doesn't now. You don't know what you don't know and I don't know what I don't know.

Your dad is going to be 65?
[@11509,Keepitsimple] Next March.

Having Aspergers is certainly challenging, but most likely you also have a brilliance in some areas that most people dont have. Use your talents, whatever they are. My nephew has aspergers. He is able to carry on a respectful conversation, do chores, and works at computer repair. The world won't be extra kind just because you have an extra challenge in your life. That's just reality. Do your best.

I hate the fact that someday my mom will no longer be here and I also hate the fact that someday I won't be there for my daughter she's only six but that just shows true love in a family

Your parents are not elderly. The girlfriend is way out of line for talking to you like that.
[@490924,lukeboy] Right? I was going to show her my school assignment and then she got right into the topic. I didn’t even ask her about that.
