I Hate My Life Right Now

No friends, family seems to not give a damn about me and nobody ever listens to me. Everyone wants to kick me while I'm already down and I can't get a job to save my life. While others around me are able to get two or three jobs all at once and I can't even manage to get one. The person that I love isn't speaking to me and we left things on a bad note and it seems like he hates me and like we will never get back on track. I feel alone and sometimes even depressed. It seems like everyone is moving ahead and living a great life while I am still going backwards. I can never seem to catch a break.

Good luck. I hope you find something so you can support yourself. Even if it requires less skill and training, and pays less. But keep applying.

Or, stay where you are (are you living with your parents?), get a job, any job, just to save money, then apply in other cities where there are more jobs in your field, and move and start over there.

I finished graduate school with an MS in math yet no experience and little money. I spent all of the summer of '98 applying and interviewing with no success, even though I had a good school record, and a degree. I finally got two job offers in August. I had about $1000 left to my name, plus a credit card, so I was getting desperate. I took one of the offers, and have been there ever since.

Once you get started, and get your foot in the door, and a few years experience, it will get easier, not just to be promoted, but to move to other things elsewhere. Where I work, people usually leave after a couple years. Those that stay more than 5 or so years tend to stay for the duration, or at least stay in the organization, but perhaps move to another office within it. Some move up the ladder.

I am closer to retirement now than to my date of hire, and people retire which opens things up. But I have not yet gotten ambitious, not yet sought those positions higher up which pay more, mostly because they require more responsibility and for me to deal with more people. I am best working alone.

Good luck again.

most of my family tends not to care about me and a few other family members (minus my mother, sister, (grandmother, two uncles <-- moms side) so i think i somewhat know how you feel, though i generally tend to not care what people think about me, if you're being kicked while you're already down and you stand strong, it proves you're better than you think yourself to be. if you can't get a good job with your MAA, i hate to suggest this as it isn't the best.. but you could always work at a fast food place until you get a nice "kick start" my mother worked as waitress for Ihop for years and loved it as far as i could tell, most restaurants aren't good, but if you manage to find a decent one, the tips should add up very quickly. as for the fast food... i'd say it's 55/45 55 being bad, 45 being good.. give him time, he'll come around, they always do. it's only a "bad note" if you make it that way. sometimes being or feeling alone is best, even if it's painful, if people move ahead of you without even slowing down to give you a chance to catch up, then just remember they were never there to begin with. going backwards isn't so bad, in fact i'd say it's better than going forward and that you learn more. if you can't catch the break, then let the break catch you.

Thanks, and as I mentioned before I have been willing to take any jobs until I get on my feet, but I haven't had luck with anything not just the medical jobs.

It's things like health insurance, receptionist, Medical billing and coding... etc. I am able to work in all medical facilities. Dr's office, dentist, hospital, nursing home, medical insurance company, clinic. Anything medical related. I am hoping to become a nurse in the future as well.

I have a degree in Medical Administrative Assisting. Not many opportunities in my area within the Medical Field. I would have to move, but I don't have the money or transportation to do so, so until then I am willing to take anything to get up on my feet, but I haven't had any luck.

My life, for most of it's duration, has been like this. It's primarily my own fault. I'm starting life over at age 64. I won't let myself give up or lose hope, that would make everything worse for me. As somebody asked, what are you good at? What are your strengths? Feel free to chat with me.

What does a medical administrative assistant do? At least you have an education. The medical profession is growing fast, since the population is aging and people are less healthy than before.

Here is a thought. Maybe the places your sisters work need help, something you can do. Possibly you could talk to your sisters and they might help you get employment where they work. Even if you are not on the best of terms with them, blood is thicker than water. Just a thought.
You'll b ok 👌

No, I never said I had a bf. I am wanting to work things out with someone. I've reconnected with not to long ago, but now we're not speaking again. I would rather not get into that right now, but that's to sum things up.
butterfly1013 · 26-30, F
and yeah, I have applied for other work aside for what I'm qualified to do, I still haven't had any luck. I haven't had any luck with any jobs is what I'm saying

@humanbing86 I'm not bitching, just explaining my life at them moment and trust me I deal with a lot more than I have mentioned on this post so, I do believe that I have every right to complain and yes, I know what I want to do in my future, but it doesn't mean that I will get there and I have had this certification for the longest.. my sisters aren't even qualified to do anything and they have work. I am the only one out or my siblings/ sisters that have completed and graduated from a college course and they have jobs that I am actually qualified to do and they're not is my point and you're still missing the part about this guy in my life that I would like to work things out with and that really bothers me a lot more than the job thing to be honest.
