I Am A Athiest

I was a typical depressed anxty American kid. "Nobody loves me. There's no god" ECT. But that depression is what made me question the existence of God. I after twenty years I haven't changed my mind.
But when I first started talking about being athiest, I got a lot of static about it. Now, it seems more and more people are willing to claim and athiest. But inevitably with in a few sentences they're talking at aliens. It's all starting to sound like the same ball of wax. For thousand of years humans have been looking at the sky and asking each other "Do you thing someone is looking at us"

I've discovered Darwin and Dawkins since then but that's what made me question it.
And I was just say that people can't let go of the idea of a protector in the sky watching over them.

Dawkins is good. Yes, I get what you were saying. I was pointing out that I find that odd, because personally, I have never met an athiest who believed in the whole alien watching scenario. Are you sure they weren't just discussing Star Trek?

There is no God. There are aliens, but they can never reach Earth. Aliens are people, and they are key to our being able to describe the eternal recurrence of self.

Aliens? Unless you are discussing the probability of intelligent life existing somewhere, why would anyone care? The athiests I know are that way because they are both intelligent and skeptics. However, I will agree that humans don't want this to be all there is. Perhaps because then we would actually have to care about destroying the planet, or because it is comforting to believe that those we lost aren't gone forever.

I don't believe in aliens. That's my point. Or at least I don't believe they're here. I like to ask UFO believers how long it take light to getting earth from the nearest star. None have an awnser
