Must confess this was a common scene in our house when I came into my teens. Then mum decided to put her foot down with a very firm hairbrush! Ow!

And so you KNOW that it is not worth spanking a child with anything other than your hand.
My Mom would break off a switch from a tree and snap it against the back of my legs. Yes I heard her calling me. I was just too busy having fun!

@Fishing65 I never had her so angry to be told to go fetch my own switch.
