Yes. No matter how often we were angry at or disappointed in each other, the love and closeness was always there. I know how blessed I was, that he was my father.

At one time I was close to my dad. He was my whole world when I was a kid. But sadly, he changed after my mother left. I think he really was never up for the challenge of being a full time dad.

I do know he had a good heart and did the best he knew how. I miss him and I do forgive him for all the times he wasn't there for me. It took me a while to get there though.

I too work all the harder to be a better parent than what I had. It's all I can do.

Not really, but I know he loved me. He passed away in 2004 and I remember a dream I had where I was talking to my mom on the phone and she told me my dad wanted to speak to me. I remember in the dream thinking it was odd as he never wanted to speak to me over the phone. He gets on the phone and says hello and I asked him how he was and he said he was good and very busy. I asked him if he liked it there and he said it was a very special place and that he loved me and missed me. I woke up.
I know he loves me and is in a much better place than this. ❤️

I wasn't. He passed when I was 12. I was a disappointment 2 him bc he was very mechanically inclined, except 4 cars, he was lost. Cars r the only thing Ik mechanical & I got my 1st job as an apprentice @ a garage.

No. I had to deal with the same when mine passed. Not sure I'm really at peace with it. But also don't think I could ever really be.

very much so throughout my childhood but less so in latter years. although still closer than a lot of people are to their dads lol. he died in april.

Yes, Pop and I speak often. He’s always been there for me throughout my life and I feel very fortunate to still have both him and my mother.

My dad and I are close and get along well. It helps that he's as much of a nerd as I am. :)

No... He's a narcissist and an all around toxic person.
But that's okay, I'll make sure my future children have a loving dad :)
