I Take Effexor

Bad day today. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

I also take effexor. I dont know how long you have been taking it but it can take some time before your body gets use to it. Hang in there

I'm about two weeks in. They said I won't really notice anything until 4-6 weeks

@NeedingSupport: Exactly. I have tried multiple medications in my life and think i have found the right one with effexor

@NeedingSupport: It's okay, I don't take it anymore, but just looking at the icon of that pill makes my teeth feel weird.

How long have you been taking it and what's your thinking about it?
I'm just coming off 150mg of Sertraline to go onto 75mg of Effexor, having the brain zaps at the moment.

Oh ok just give it some time then.
When I first started on Citalopram, it was horrendous and then after a month or so, it settled down.
I've heard mixed reviews about Effexor but some have been really positive which I'm hoping will be the case with both of us.

I've read a lot of horror stories. My husband told me to stop looking stuff up. He educated himself on side effects and everything so he can notice of something changes in me but he didn't want me to read all the bad stuff

Unfortunately it's like everything, it can be found online and it will probably always be negative as no one shouts from the rooftops about something good.
But here was one
"Truly wish I had accepted my depression and sought help years ago. This medication has completely cleared my mind and has helped me dramatically in the first two weeks of use. Although it caused insomnia for the first two days of use and I felt like a space cadet for the first 3 it helped me ease my moods and somewhat doesn't even allow my mind to wander into negative feelings. Highly recommended seeking help and support with this medication although I do suggest beginning treatment over the weekend to be adjusted before a work week."

Whay are the side effects to it
MommaOfTwo · 31-35, F
I haven't noticed much yet... I have had more sleepless nights, but I had that before the med... It was a marker for hypomania that my Dr saw. I don't sleep much and I'm not tired. So I don't know if the med is making it worse or if it's just normal me lol

It could be akathisia, that sometimes happens and omg it's horrible. It does feel like you're going out of your mind climbing up the walls. It mostly happens with antipsychotics but can happen with antidepressants too.

Do you have a formal bipolar diagnosis or did they just suspect it?
MommaOfTwo · 31-35, F
@crossproduct: I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. My Dr mentioned I had a few markers of hypomania but not enough to actually say I had it.
