Turkey or no Turkey?

I went from Mom making thanksgiving dinner to my ex in laws making thanksgiving dinner to ex brother in laws making thanksgiving dinner... my new neighbors have invited me over but, I’d like to finally make one on my own for myself and my kiddos. Is it hard?👀

I like the smell of it cooking in the house but I usually have a piece of it and eat most the side dishes or ham or pasta.
@Keepitsimple turkey and lasagna for us. have never made a ham for Thanksgiving

My family is too big and everybody likes different things so we make a lot. It’s actually overwhelming and ridiculous and too much work. Within the next few years I hope to pass the baton and be on clean up duty full time. One year I actually booked a vacation over Christmas so I could get out of cooking alone and buying presents. I needed a break. @saragoodtimes
@Keepitsimple when I was small there were big family get togethers. I miss those times. now were spread out

@saragoodtimes I love my family but we are growing and nobody seems to be able to start new traditions. If I said I can’t make thanksgiving they would reschedule the whole family to come the following weekend. I know I sound awful but who cares, we see each other all the time.
@Keepitsimple I talk to my brother and sister all the time. miss our get togethers.. Alan is an only child so its just him and his Mom when we have family

@saragoodtimes our get together are anywhere from 20-30 people. It depends who brings girlfriends and boyfriends and people off the street. 🤦🏻‍♀️
@Keepitsimple Sundays at my Grandpas were like that. oh the memories of a big family

Loud and crazy! I do love my family though. I love to listen to stories and catch up just not the cooking part 😉.@saragoodtimes
@Keepitsimple wouldn't be an Italian get together without loud and crazy. when I was young someone had to get sauce on a white shirt to make it a real Italian gathering

That would be me, lol. I always spill 🙄@saragoodtimes
@Keepitsimple had to happen when everyone was dipping Italian bread in the sauce
