@Sharon you were fortunate in not having the double punishment. I can tell you their was nothing worse walking home with a sore bottom from having it caned knowing, may be that might of the next, if your parents found out you were going to get another whacking on yoursore bottom.

@chikki As far as I know,, none of my friends were subject to double punishments like that either. I don't think I'd even heard of other than on sites like this.

I think, and you have no details on your profile, that your friends would be around your age and you were not a child before mid 1960's when this was common. You may not have read about this on many other sites as they tend not to deal so much with real cases, more fantasy. From what you are saying any parent that used a cane on a childs bottom did so for sexual pleasure. Sorry but facts di not support it from pre 2000.
If you want to read about double punishments you want to read books that have been written telling their life story before 1980's.

@chikki I was born mid-sixties so you are talking about a slightly earlier time than my childhood. Double punishment wasn't common in my area during my childhood.

I haven't said that a parent who caned a child's bottom did so for sexual pleasure. I said that teachers who only caned the bottoms of children of one sex probably did so for sexual gratification.

Why do you think a teacher would cane girls for even minor offences but would always let boys off for the same or even more serious matters?

@Sharon Probably because he or she was a pervert who got off on it. The same as if he or she only caned boys.

@NortiusMaximus or of course as in my case it was a single sex school, as were most private schools at this time.

@chikki In that case you can't know if girls would have been treated equally.

My wife and I both went to mixed sex schools that treated boys and girls the same. She got the cane more times than I did. ;)

@NortiusMaximus Not in my experience, the opposite if anything, but more likely because girls took more notice of warnings.

@CathyUK In my experience girls often took less notice of warnings due, at least in part, to a mistaken belief that they were less likely to be punished. I know it came as quite a shock to some girl when they discovered they were wrong.

@CathyUK Girls didn't take any notice of warnings in schools where they were exempt from punishment. Boys probably wouldn't have either if only girls were liable to be punished.
