Give it time, be patient. Use it to learn more about the hows and when this person lies to you.

It鈥檚 like evidence obtained in a shady way so it won鈥檛 play in court

If you're spying, then yes, you are going to eat this information, or be exposed as the creep you are. If it was a trusted friend or confidante , then you should respect that relationship too, unless you get permission from that source.
Now I'm curious how you found out. A little bit of dishonest snooping?
@Danirose Well, if you caught them in a lie, then why couldn't you just say "hey, you said this thing, but it's not true and this is how I know"?

Edit: It is how I prefer people to talk to me anyways.

@Danirose That is even more important to be upfront about where you got your information then. I had a stalker who would slander me to people I knew and caused a lot fo drama in my life. When anyone bothered to say "hey _____ says _____ and ____ about you" I was able to lay out the situation to them.

Most people wouldn't do that, they would try on the sly to bring up stuff about me that that I knew was slander specifically spread by the guy stalking me and see how I reacted to it. From that point on I had to not trust those individuals as they were trusting my stalker and would be a source of information for him.

Best policy is to always tell. Unless it's a situation where sharing your information would be illegal for confidentiality reasons.
A lie is a trust broken. Once the trust is broken..all rules go out of the window.
@anythingoes477 Yeah, no. I would lie all the time to someone who didn't trust me just because I wouldn't trust them to believe the truth. Fuck that noise. They can scram from my life.

Then how are you doing to approach it?
