@iamnikki: I am 72 years old and have never married. My mother belonged to a bizarre cult-like group and they harassed me so much I was afraid to marry and subject a husband, or even worse, children, to my difficult and painful situation. Since I knew from childhood on that marriage would probably never happen for me, I decided to make the best of it. Being single and free and independent is not all that bad, really. Much of my life, I enjoyed it. After living as a slave child to my crazy mother, just being on my own gave me some happiness. Now, in my old age, I am sad that I never married but it was a situation I could not overcome.

@greenmountaingal: yes i read that post. That is difficult. But im glad you did find happiness in your life.
