Ugh, any good advice for mold and humidity?

I try to keep my place less humid and turn on the AC whenever I'm home..
But still, I found my rice cooker covered with mold just now......... Big sigh...!!!!! What should I do about it!

Get a dehumidifier, makes wonders.

@Reverend Yea.. maybe that would be the best solution.. I need to look for an affordable one..
Reverend · M
@jellyfishman the ones you plug into the wall in a room arent that expensive. They have smaller tanks so youll need to empty the water more frequently.

@Reverend suggest some good brand please.

In my place i have mold problem everywhere.
-They creep into my paintings
-My shoes/slippers (if i leave them for a week as it is)
-Food of course lol
-Clothes (if left in one place or closed place for a long time)
-Wood

And don't forget that horrible damp smell in such places lol

@YourFriend4ever Oh my god...... That must be a nightmare..! Do you have to wipe everything out everyday?? Damn I'm so lazy and sometimes I'm not at home for days, so it will be so hard to do all the maintenance.. Hope you find a solution soon @.@! I'm going to buy some products that can absorb moisture in the air today.. as a temporary way for now..!
YourFriend4ever · 26-30, F
@jellyfishman Well yeah you can say that. It takes a lot of work to maintain such a place.
Hope whatever you're buying goes well with you.

Dry with a towel as much as possible. Unless it's imbedded itself which could be possible(but it only happens on porous material if I remember) then bleach and allow to sit for a few minutes and then remove.
jellyfishman · 31-35, F
@SW-User Aw very practical tip! Thank you.. ^.^ I'll try to clean the rice cooker first..

@jellyfishman I have the same issue wth an older blender. Also helps to let sit out in the sun to help kill any mold.
jellyfishman · 31-35, F
@SW-User Ah.. that makes me think, probably another reason why mold grows at my place is that it doesn't really get much sunlight as the window is blocked by another building...

Might need to leave the AC on and buy good filters for it. Clean up real good then get an air purifier.
jellyfishman · 31-35, F
@Eternity Oh.. bad AC filter can cause it too, you think? :-0......!
Eternity · 26-30, M
@jellyfishman not cause but could definitely exacerbate.
jellyfishman · 31-35, F
@Eternity Damn XD.. so many things to fix at my place... whew!

Apply bleach on mold. Leave it for 30 minutes. Then scrub with cleaning powder and some strong liquid cleaner. Mold is hard to kill.
jellyfishman · 31-35, F
@badminton One good thing is that I found it not too late, so it's not that bad yet.. I think I can easily it out. But it's just annoying that I keep finding them at surprising places lol
YourFriend4ever · 26-30, F
Urgh i have the same problem here and it sucks! Totally hate it. Your comment section will help me too i guess lol.

Move somewhere less damp 🤔
jellyfishman · 31-35, F
@Gumbodidlo Maybe I'll bring dry place to my place. build a desert with a lot of sand in the middle of my room.... XD!
Gumbodidlo · C
@jellyfishman sounds like a good plan 🤔
acpguy · C
Move to ARIZONA
jellyfishman · 31-35, F
@acpguy lol can't you just send the dry air to where I live a bit?
