I Am A Caregiver To My Spouse

Last night my wife struggled to brush her own teeth. This turned out to be too much for her and she broke down crying for most of the night. This past couple weeks she has had to accept that she can no longer feed herself and needs me to feed her, now she has to ask me to brush her teeth for her. ALS really does suck. 2 years ago she was independent and now the only thing she can eat on her own are small finger foods and she struggles with that. I keep telling her that I am happy to help her with anything she needs and will always be by her side to help always. The loss of her independence is the hardest thing for her, nothing I can do can give that back to her. She is the one with the terrible disease, but this is hard on me too.
