I have self harmed in the past and now I regret it so much it makes me almost go insane if I think about it. Please find a safer way to release your emotions :( easier said than done but the way to do it is to wean off of it by replacing it with another coping mechanism, something that stings but isn't permanent, like rubber band snapping. Then you can start replacing it with healthier alternatives like drawing, calligraphy, gardening, etc that can keep your hands busy.
Some people are prone to self harming as a coping mechanism due to various reasons. So please I hope you can ask a doctor to explain the science behind these human impulses, and that if you make the effort with a therapist/doctor you can really get healthier with time!!!!!
