Skirts not too short

Our school was obsessed by the length of our skirts. It had to be below knee level but not as low as the calf. The irony was that our bare legs were perfectly decent in PE when we had to wear gym knickers, leotards or swimming costumes, but not in other lessons 🙄

Knee length skirt, shorts for athletics, skirt for netball. Indoor p e in shorts, gymnastics in a leotard, both of the latter with bare feet.

Oh my gosh! Yes same here the school was always fussy about the length of our uniform skirt but in PE had no worries about having us run the cross country in our gym knickers.

@SunshineGirl Aww that's not nice 😕 In my school we weren't allowed in class barefoot and actually had our footwear confiscated if they were incorrect so I used that loop hole to be without shoes or socks 😅

We had to work in bare feet for indoor PE, drama and dance, and I often 'forgot' my trainers for outdoors lessons.

In the summer I wore sandals without socks and it was quite easy to slip those off 🙂

@SunshineGirl PE, drama and dance were always done in bare feet for everyone in my school.

The best thing about sandals is they slip off real easily 🙂

@ArtieKat They were never mean to make sense at all. Their only purpose is to give teachers something else to bully students with and, nowadays, to allow schools to demand bribes from uniform suppliers.

same when I was in school and the girls skirts had to be just below the knee but for gym or even swimming they wore shorts and swimming they wore bikinis.
