I Had Or Have To Wear A School Uniform

Grey skirt, white blouse, navy blazer with school badge, white socks or black/navy tights in the winter, black shoes with low heel.

I once wore red tights to school and was told to take them off in the toilet. Bare legs and feet in January is not pleasant 😬

Bare feet in January can't have been good😬. I guess you didn't do it again. I think we had a school uniform in middle school of red jumper, white shirt, grey trousers though I don't think everyone wore it. Comprehensive school was a black blazer, white shirt, black blue and white tie and black trousers with black shoes. Thankfully our PE kit wasn't a uniform as such because if it was, and included footwear I definitely wouldn't have worn it inside.

My school uniform was white long sleeved shirt with school badge on the pocket grey or black trousers ,green blazer with school badge ,black socks ,black shoes ,we also had a green jersey with school badge and a grey tracksuit we were allowed to wear in winter .We had white t shirts and shorts for PE included in our kit list although we hardly ever wore them .I think it was for parents benefit because they didn't want them knowing we had to do pe nude .We also had a green speedo that we were only allowed to wear if there were visitors at the school .

@Rhodesianman OK . . did it feel strange to swim with trunks on those gala days? We had to buy non-marking trainers for PE, but we never ever got to wear them 🙄

@QuietSophie Yer I have never liked swimming in a costume especially after 5 years at high school .I think we probably spent as much time naked as we did clothed maybe more .

bleh, i remember in winter for PE they used to make us wear this shirt with a badge on it and it'd rub against your nipple -_- was the worst. Teachers all wore comfy layers of course.

@Bebop Teachers are hypocrites 😠 Girls had to go barefoot for indoor PE, because our trainers supposedly marked the floor, but our teacher always had shoes on indoors 😒

@QuietSophie lol wtf, that's so unhygienic. In primary they used to make us walk through this septic pool that kids peed in so we could get in a swimming pool that was full of spiders and sometimes poop.
i refused to take swimming lessons there.

Your uniform sounds very much like mine - and I went to school 50 years ago! I remember how excited we were when we were allowed to wear trousers in the 6th form. Most girls soon ditched their skirts

Awww sorry Sophie, were you allowed your shoes back at least 😬 I once wore black knee socks with a white stripe and was told to remove them!

@suzie1960 Thanks for the links! I was never a fan of uniform rules. I think they always tended to be harshest on the girls and were abused by sexist pigs 😠

@QuietSophie I disagree, I think they were harsher on boys. As I said in those posts, girls had more freedom of appearance than boys at my children's school.

@suzie1960 At our school we were allowed no make-up and had to leave the lesson to scrub it off if we were wearing any. They were also obsessed by the length of our skirts - had to be between calf and knee height. I remember a girl who persistently wore a skirt a couple of inches too short and she got made to change into her PE shorts. That was ridiculous and completely illogical 😠

Making you take your tights off is crazy although I know all about bare legs at school, at primary all the boys had to wear short trousers all year round. The main reason for this was so the teacher could hit our bare legs for the slightest misdeed

@TheWildEcho I'me sorry about that 😟 We were allowed to wear tights to keep warm in the winter (because girls could not wear trousers), so it was ridiculous to make me take them off just because they were the wrong colour 🙄

@QuietSophie it was totally rediculous, at least we wore socks with our shorts. It's silly not allowing girls trousers, I'd have thought much more practical but then what do I know? I've never worn a skirt lol
