I Had Or Have To Wear A School Uniform
I'm not sure that children today really know what school uniform is. Back in the "good old days", our uniform was very strictly controlled, down to the boater stile hat we had to wear to and from school.
However, I recall at the time we were all proud of our uniform. It comprise straight navy blue skirt with blazer and cardigan and jumper. For the summer we had a light blue check dress.
Our uniform even involved having to wear navy blue knickers, much "loved" by all the girls at the time, though later my husband said that all the boys loved the girls in their navy blue knickers!
That "much beloved" item of clothing long gone, though they were probably more appropriate than some of the things worn by girls today, I am not sure a thong is appropriate wear for school!
