I Grew Up With a Verbally Abusive Mother

Constantly critical, constantly insulting, constantly insinuating. Even now. Every time she texts me, she makes some shitty remark about me and my life. As though she's the queen of wise choices (she is anything but). 🙄 I dont know why I stay in contact with her.

My mother was like this too. Bad decisions all her life yet was highly critical of anything I did or said. I
have a feeling mothers who made poor life choices are actually more likely to be this way to their kids than mothers who make good choices. No they don't do it to protect you from going down their path, they do it because they are b*tches.
