The bottom is the best place for the cane if really needed. That was how it was done in the schools I attended in the past.

The back is fine for whipping, but the cane is more safely applied to more fleshy parts like the buttocks.

Could do bad damage the butt is much safer

The Indonesian, public version (in Aceh) is pissweak, aimed more at shame. Look at how Singaporean prisons do it, on the buttocks. There's clips online though you have to look carefully.
