Ginger tea with a little turmeric and a few cloves does wonders (can add honey or citrus fruits for sweeter taste but very little - honey is good but may irritate throat and provoke more coughing).
Lemon water itself cleanses the throat.
Raw garlic with food or using garlic with a small cut on it as candy while watching tv helps too (I know it's gross but it works hahah).
Don't forget chicken soup with a little more salt than usual.
When I was sick I sometimes drank a little warm water with sea salt with iode (it isn't particularly tasty by it kills bacteria!) hope it helps you! :)

Just got over mine. Gargle with salt water, take calcium with vitamin d, vitamin c, eat soup, drink a lot of hot tea and rest. You'll be fine in a week.
