It's 53 degrees Fahrenheit here. I live in a 4th floor apartment, and when the downstairs neighbors crank up their heat I fry up here. I have had to open my sliding door wide and I am running all my fans as though it was the middle of August.
Unfortunately, the ragweed pollen is still out and about, and my eyes are itching and burning and I have had to take cold and flu medicine to stop my nose from running. I would MUCH rather be cold. At least with the cold you can bulk up on the sweaters and coats.
@4meAndyou that’s must be very irritating, I suffer from the same allergies so I know how annoying that is. I’m wrapped up in a blanket and duvet and still so cold. But it’ll get better I’m sure.
@DHggmu I lived in a rooming house temporarily one winter, while I was searching for an apartment I could afford. The house was built in the 1700's with no insulation, and the windows were single pane. The harbor was three blocks away and the wind blew directly onto my room from the harbor. When the heat was ON I had to have an electric heater by my feet when sitting at my desk and had to put on ski suit pants.
THEN we had a big snow storm, and had no power in the whole town for four days, and I remember piling every coat and sweater and sweatshirt I owned underneath my blankets and quilts just so I could go to sleep and not die of the cold...and I remember wondering if I would wake up in the morning.
@4meAndyou I think I shouldn’t complain about the cold here anymore after hearing that, though I’m only exaggerating anyway cause it’s bearable of course, I can’t imagine being THAT cold..
The other night it dropped down to 18 degrees already! It will be in the low 40s in the day but nights are dripping into the 30s for the rest of the week. We have wood heat so all is well... Inside! Hope you fix your plumbing asap.
